This species was common up until a few years ago. A friend obtained some specimens from someone selling his setup (they were included in the sale of the tank) around 2003. He proceeded to produce quite large numbers and then got out of the hobby for a time. Suggestions are that this species is still in existance in Australia but may be quite rare. Some people have been told by retailers that they are not being bred as there is no demand for them. Hopefully we don't lose this species from the hobby.
If you have this species we would love to hear from you.
