'Geophagus' sp. "Bahia Red"
Status within Australia: Unlikely presence.
Characteristics: Head profile appears more pointed compared to 'G.' brasiliensis, red operculum colour (in both sexes).
Comments: It is highly unlikely that this species / variant is in the country. There are fish that came into the country and are being sold under this name, but they not true 'G.' sp. "Bahia Red" and are usually just 'G.' brasiliensis. There are a very limited number of pictures of this species online.
